KINGSTON – The west end hub of the Boys and Girls Club was jam packed full of children and their families looking for groups and clubs to join. More than 40 local groups participated in this year’s leisure showcase — shining the spotlight on fun and unique fall and winter programs from martial arts to archery tag. The programs are suitable for all ages — from toddlers to seniors. The public could get a free hands on feel of all the activities that partners of the Boys and Girls Club offer. Families were encouraged to sign up for a new and exciting activity to promote staying active during the colder seasons.
Deanna Davies/Director of Resource Development, Boys and Girls Club Kingston: “It’s not just the sports groups that are here. We have a lot of amazing clubs that are here. We have the St. George’s choir that is here as well. So it’s really a great opportunity to showcase the arts, athletics and also the community of Kingston.”
