It’s been a tough run for outgoing N-D-P leader Tom Mulcair.
Under his leadership, the NDP lost seats in the last federal election.
Mulcair has promised to stay on until a new leader is chosen in the fall of 2017.
But even that is in question now.
There’s talk that some members of the NDP caucus want him to step down sooner.
A political observer at Queen’s lists 3 basic reasons for Mulcair’s poor performance — starting with poor fundraising results.
“He’s really failed to get his profile by criticizing the government like he was during the previous parliament and three he’s really failed to keep the NDP in the media spotlight.”
