Local man honoured on the Canadian Walk of Fame

A Man from our region will be honoured on the Canadian Walk of Fame next month.

John Cairns of Trenton is the recipient of this years ‘Peter Soumalias Unsung Hero Honour.’
Cairns’ life changed dramatically when he was hit by a train in a work accident …. and lost his right arm and leg. He used his experience to give back to the community becoming the president and founder of ‘Wheelchair of Hope Foundation.’
He has also started a motivational speaking company –called “Voice of Victory” — and has served on dozens of community committees. Recently, he climbed to the summit of mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak. Cairns says he is honoured to be selected for the Walk of Fame Honour.

John Cairns:

“I live life to the fullest and this award I share with the community . I share it with family, I share it with friends. I share it with all the organizations I’ve been so humbled ┬áto be apart of. I share it with so many of the angels. And I really believe that we’re all angels with one wing, and we need one another to fly.”
