A Marmora woman is out hundreds of dollars after being taken in by the so-called “Canada Revenue Agency Scam.”
Provincial Police say the woman received a phone call on Tuesday from a man claiming to work for the Canada Revenue Agency.
He told her she owed back taxes and payment could be made by purchasing gift cards.
Police say the victim felt intimidated by the caller’s harassing tone and gave into the demands.
Police remind you that the CRA does not try to collect back taxes in this way.
