A popular fixture of the pump house steam museum has found a new home.
“The Phoebe”, a century-old steam powered yacht, will be housed at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour while renovations take place at the steam museum.
The vessel is being stored in the sail measuring room.
And according to the city’s curator, “The Phoebe” could be there for an extended stay.
Paul Robertson: “Perhaps for the next couple of years. It’s a holding zone. Certainly the long-term plans for her, there are several options on the table we’re looking at. She’s also perhaps tied in with the visioning which is going on for POH at present. So it’s part of a larger visioning exercise on the waterfront master plan roll out.”
