A provincially appointed supervisor will soon takeover operations at Brockville General Hospital to help it get out of a financial mess.
Earlier this month, the BGH board borrowed $5.3 million from the South East LHIN to cover a budget shortfall.
The amount is in addition to a $4.3 million deficit.
Queen’s Park informed the hospital board on Monday of its decision and the board issued a written statement on the matter this morning.
In the statement, the board says it will cooperate fully with the supervisor as a plan is developed to get the hospital back on track financially.
It’s not known exactly when the supervisor will start.
