Brockville Police nab razor blade thief

A 40 year old Hawkesbury area man is facing theft charges after an attempt was made to shoplift a large quantity of razor blades in Brockville.

Police were called to a north end box store at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived the suspect bolted from the store.

After leading police on a foot chase through several parking lots, the suspect was apprehended on the lawn of a California Avenue business.

The investigation revealed the man was charged by Russell OPP for a similar offence and there was a warrant out for his arrest in Quebec.

He was released on bail and will be back in Brockville for a court appearance at a later date.

Police are looking into whether this theft is connection with a similar offence a couple of weeks ago in Prescott.
