The Queen’s hockey Gaels open up a new season on Friday night…7.30 at the Memorial Centre against the Carleton Ravens…

Brett Gibson/

“I’m excited–at the start of the year you come to the rink with a little more jump in your step because you want to see what your made build your team over the summer and then you have a month to get ready for the regular season and I think were ready….we have to find that passion though, we have to work hard…its the most skilled team I’ve ever had to be honest with you but now I have to get the work ethic out of them and if we have that it should be a successful year for this group….were going to be very skilled and very structured and we have great goaltending..were still going to have to manufacture some goals but I like what we have so far.”

Coach Gibson mentioned he has great goaltending–Kevin Baille could very well be the best netminder in CIS hockey

“I’m very biased and I’ve been through the league a lot and I think I have the best goalie in the country and its up to us to provide him with the support and manufacture some goals….he does’nt have to win us games that’s for sure but I know he’s not going to lose us any.”
