Four people are facing drug charges after a significant drug seizure in Central Hastings.
The OPP’s Organized Crime Bureau, with help from several local police departments, executed two search warrants in Marmora and Stirling-Rawdon Township on Wednesday.
Officers seized a restricted handgun, along with quantities of cocaine and marijuana with an estimated street value of $17,000.
Four suspects – two from Marmora and two from Stirling – were taken into custody on a total of 18 drug and weapons-related charges.
Charged are Konstantine Merianos, 23, Spiros Merianos, 76, Amanda Taylor, 26 and Quinn Bolton, 19 are charged.
The younger Merianos is in custody pending a bail hearing and the other three have been released on a promise to appear in court on October 27.
“We want the community and surrounding area to know that we have zero tolerance for drug dealers who prey on those with addiction issues,” said Staff Sgt. Scott Semple.
“These criminals should be on notice that enforcement in this area will be a focus and priority of our detachment. Those with addiction issues need to know that assistance and support programs are readily available in our community.”
