Big changes ahead including a new live morning show and CKWS rebranding

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

KINGSTON – It’s a new era for CKWS News and with that comes a lot of changes — including a new look.
Jay Westman/CKWS News, Operations Manager:
“We’re going to see brighter colours. We’re going to see cleaner colours. We’re going to see shinier surfaces. Just a little bit less organic. A little bit more clean cut.”
The new studio set and graphics are all part of the rebranding of the station as we join the Global television family.
Being a part of the network not only means ckws will have access to more content but we will also be providing it.
October 17th is the launch of our new 3 hour live morning show.
Hosts Julie Brown and Bill Welychka are excited to get things started.
Julie Brown:
“First thing in the morning. We’re on the air from 6-9 AM. So you’re going to find out the local headlines. You’re going to find out about the traffic, the weather and sporting news. Really the complete package before you head out the door everyday.”
Julie Brown will continue to host the Noon newscast but it will be shortened to 30 minutes.
The late news will be called “ckws news at 11″.
The WS Daily will continue to be 30 minutes long and followed by Global National news… but the name will altered to the CKWS Daily.
Bill Welychka:
“It’s changing in its look. It will be a recap of the best moments from that particular moments from that particular morning. But also new and fresh material. If you missed anything in the morning it will be on the CKWS Daily. That’s not going away it will just be enhanced with some of our new The Morning Show content.”
The rest of the programming on the CKWS station will remain the same–including our hour long 6pm newscast.
Monday October 17th at 6am is when you will see these changes for yourself.
Bringing you more local content with an even better and much brighter news product… everyday.
