Tear down of QECVI nears completion

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

The last pieces of the former Queen Elizabeth Collegiate are coming down.

The north end high school is being demolished to make way for a new $36 million high school on the site.

Crews have been on site since the summer removing the 1955-era school.

Construction of the new school will then start right away.

The new school will take in students from QECVI and Kingston Collegiate.

It’s expected to be open in fall 2018.
