It’s the home opener on Friday night for the queen’s basketball gaels against Laurier….the ladies play at 6 and the men at 8 o’clock…
“We work so hard all summer and look to showcase that talent here in front of fans and fellow students and friends..its always exciting and against Laurier we have a really good chance of winning and that’s always fun…for us, we just take it one game at a time–compete every night and hopefully scratch out a “‘W” every night…were going to defend hard–pay attention to scout defense –get up and down and play really fundamental basketball I mean coach always preaches that–fundamental basketball.”
“I’m really excited to play my first game at Queen’s..first home opener at the CIS level..its a big jump from Canadore College-p-really looking forward to it.”
That’s Isse Ibraham—a transfer student from north bay….the 6 foot 3 guard just loves his new surroundings….
I like this team–there’s togetherness–every puts in the work–everybody has excepted me with open arms and made me feel comfortable..I did’nt feel like an outsider at all..they welcomed me–we all work hard..its a good enviroment to be in.”
“Were all family..off the court its great being with these guys..on the court is even better and were jelling really quickly together so its exciting.”
