Teenager charged with assaulting police, resisting arrest

A 16 year old boy has been charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest after an incident at a Kingston youth shelter.

Police were called to a Kingscourt Avenue youth housing residence during the noon hour Wednesday.

Staff were concerned for the safety of other residents and their own, because a teenager was uncooperative when asked to leave.

Officers tried to get keys to the building from the boy, but he pushed an officer and ran from the building.

He was caught short distance away but continued to resist and shout at police.

The teenager was eventually handcuffed and taken into custody.
