A Kingston doctor is the new president of the Ontario College of Family Physicians.
Dr. Glenn Brown assumed the new role less than a week ago — and is also the head of the queen’s department of family medicine.
Dr. Brown says there have been many significant strides over the last few years in family medicine — like the implementation of family health teams and increasing education programs for family medicine and nursing.
But he also adds there’s more work to be done.
“We want to be partners in helping to address issues with indigenous health, we want to be partners in reaching out and making sure that everyone has access to primary care including those people living in poverty or refugees or other marginalized populations.”
