And its the Islander’s who get on the board first….Nic Stafford to Mitch Brennan who snaps it past Picton netminder Aaron Young for a 1-0 lead…

the pirates force a turn-over–Dawson Ellis to Nick Hoey who picks the corner on Graham Gemmill…and its 1-1 after 20-minutes of play..

2nd period—Islanders
on the power play…Brody Cross
–feeds to a pinching Nik Stafford and
with a howitzer–gives the home team….a 2-1 advantage…

but just seconds later– Picton ties
it up… Dawson Ellis will score on the wrap-a-round with 5-islander’s watching him do it….

and the visitors take the lead for the first time in the game..Ryan Fraser on the break-a-way who beats Gemmill…..and the Prince Edward County boys celebrate a 3-2 advantage….

but Gananoque gets the equalizer…Chris Minns into the offensive zone…to Shamus barr to Jacob Ovens who lights the lamp…and its 3-3 after 40-minutes of action…

but the visitors score two unanswered goals in the final frame…this one by Jordan Cannons…Picton wins 5-3…..stealing a valuable two points on the road…

“It was huge..there’s a big push with us and Gananoque –the battle for 3rd place which is huge in the play-offs…the boys were rolling tonight that’s for sure…obviously we beat them 5-3–the boys were jelling with a short bench but picked up the “W’….
