KINGSTON -A holiday tradition that’s being going on for more than 5 decades kicked off this afternoon. About 500 community members took part in Ongwanada’s annual Christmas luncheon. Ongwanada is a non-profit charitable organization that provides services to hundreds of adults and children with developmental disabilities in the Kingston area. Dozens of volunteers offered their time to ensure everyone had a full plate. On today’s menu… A traditional holiday meal with all the fixings.
Wade Durling/CEO, Ongwanada:
“It really is an opportunity as a whole to come. We really see community as a very important part of what we do. It’s just an opportunity to bring community to us… we’re also out their with the community… and to use a festive time to make that happen.”
