Rifle stolen in one of two PEC break-ins

Provincial Police in Prince Edward County are looking for suspects in two break-ins over the weekend – including one in which a rifle was stolen.

On Monday night a Sophiasburgh homeowner reported a break-in at a Kimball Lane address.

Along with a rifle, a pellet gun, electronics and jewellery were stolen.

Two days earlier – between 2 and 5 a.m. – a pizza restaurant on Main Street in Picton had its front window smashed and cash register taken.

An undisclosed quantity of cash was inside.

Anyone with information on either break-in is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
