Flu season typically peaks in another month and a half but the Kingston-area health unit say its first cases of influenza have already been reported.
They also say it’s not too late to get the flu shot to protect yourself from the potentially dangerous virus.
And as usual – they suggest proper sneezing etiquette and washing your hands well.
They also say if you feel a sickness coming on – to stay home from work in order to avoid spreading the flu to those around you.
Dr. Bart Harvey: “Even last year with the peak that we saw, often flu is a seasonal thing. We were looking at our records from last year and it peaked around February. That was kind of the up-turn month. We’re getting mild weather now, we don’t know whether that affects it.”
