KINGSTON – Living rooms and bars across the country were beaming with Canadian pride tonight. North American rivals squared off tonight during the gold medal game for the World Junior Championship. In Kingston big crowds erupted every time Canada scored, or came close. Many pubs were near capacity with fans heading out to catch the exciting game and cheer on team Canada to victory. The last two times Canada faced off against US in a world junior final, back in 2004 and 2010… Canada lost.
“Hockey is our game. It’s exciting if we could come out on top. With the results of last year, coming out with gold would be amazing.”
“It’s been a couple of years since we’ve brought gold home so I think bringing it back home to Canada would unite the country back together again as a hockey country.”
“And I think they know that. These kids have been playing their hearts out. They’re really excited. They’re ready to do this for the rest of the country.”
