Kingston man faces more charges after breaching weapons possession ban

A 32 year old Kingston man, already on a weapons possession ban from previous conditions, is facing more charges for the same.

Police say that in December, the man was in bail court on drug and weapons charges, but released on several conditions.

The conditions included an order to wear an ankle bracelet with a GPS tracking device and always be in with his surety.

The man’s activity was monitored, and Wednesday afternoon he was seen – alone – leaving a home on the 800 block of Montreal Street carrying a bag.

When officers tried to stop him he dropped the bag and fled, but was arrested a short distance away.

A search of the bag turned up an “Air Soft” pellet pistol and a small amount of marijuana.

New charges against the accused include four counts of weapons possession while prohibited, drug possession and resisting arrest.
