Girls hockey growing in Kingston

OVER THIS PAST WEEKEND, THE KINGSTON ICE WOLVES HELD THEIR ICE 2017 ICE WOLVES CUP.

THIS YEAR MARKED THE 15TH YEAR FOR THE GIRLS LEAGUE, WITH ONE OF THE STRONGEST TURNOUT’S.

THEY WELCOMED 85 TEAMS FROM ACROSS ONTARIO AND QUEBEC. THE TOURNAMENT HOSTS TEAMS FROM NOTICE ALL THE WAY UP TO MIDGET.

THIS YEAR’S CHAIRMAN OF THE TOURNAMENT, MARC HICKLING SAYS THAT SINCE HE’S BE A PART OF THE LEAGUE — GIRLS HOCKEY HAS BEEN GROWING EVERY YEAR AND THAT’S IMPORTANT.

“It’s great to see! I’ve been in girls hockey for about 6 years and I’ve seen the teams get stronger, and better, and more and more girls coming out for all the levels… and it’s great to see.
