Passing out in a running vehicle leads to impaired charge

A 22 year old Kingston man has been charged with impaired driving after being caught passed out behind the wheel of a car.

At about 5 a.m. Sunday, police received a report about someone passed out behind the wheel of a parked car in the area of Gardiners Road and Highway 401.

The vehicle was running and its lights were on.

Police say the officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol and had to shake the driver to wake him up.

He was taken to the police station where he blew one and a half times the legal limit.
