University women’s basketball on Friday night at the Queen’s Athletic Centre…its the battle for first place in the OUA’s Eastern Division…the lady Gaels against the Ryerson Rams…
Ryerson is defending OUA champs and they were 2nd at Nationals last year so its always a big game, we know were ranked ahead of them right now so we know there going to be gunning for us and they always have a great team, they bring a lot of energy and pace..its going to be a big battle.”
The Gaels are undefeated….8-wins and no losses…there currently ranked 5th in the country….team depth is a big reason why..
“Things have really come into play where 1 through 15–everyone can play–everyone’s always ready to play and prepared to play and a lot of teams who play 6 or 7 kids cant keep up with us when were playing with a full team out there..you just run out of legs.”
A star with the Regiopolis Panthers and Kingston Impact Junior’s…Mulholland was regarded as one of the top recruits in Canada…
now healthy after suffering a serious concussion….she passed on a number of US scholarships to play for Queen’s…
“Its been awesome..everything I thought and more–the teams awesome–they’ve been really great with my transition from high school to Queen’s making it smooth so its been awesome so far…it’s definitely been a transition especially going a year without playing and that’ always a tough thing to do but I’m not worried about my offense, I know what my abilities are and when I need to put the ball in the bucket I know its going to happen so I’m just trying to get a feel for things–get my feet under me and get a better feel for the game more.”
