Midget “BB” Ice Wolves Howling!

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

They’ve lost only one game this season…the Kingston Midget BB Ice Wolves can lock up first place in the Lower Lakes Hockey League with a victory on Saturday over the Lindsay Lynx. Game time is 5 o’clock at the Cataraqui Arena.

“We need a couple of points to seal first place so that’s what were looking for this weekend..we’ve done really well the whole season so we need to just beat one more team to get first place and hopefully that works out this weekend–were really hoping for that.”

Guided by coaches Marty Lovelace, Randy Richardson, Al Hannah and Mike Cardinal, the team has enjoyed tremendous success..

“I think its the group of girls along with the coaches…the coaches have kept us going..they push us in practise–were always working on new plays..the girls are incredible to work with–we get along so well..its like another family..its just everyone working together to get to the top.”

“I am so amazed to be a part of this..I’ve never been part of a team like this before..this is my last year and I’m so happy to be finishing like this..everyone gets along so well on the team..were all doing really well together..off ice is just as important as on-ice and that’s why we get along so well and we really communicate with each other so were doing really well.”

Believe it or not–the Ice Wolves have allowed only 13-goals all season long—credit netminders Kiera Golosky and Grace Gilbert as well as a commitment to defense..

“Our goalies really set us up..they make incredible saves..the best goalies I’ve ever worked with..I worked with Kiera for a couple of years now, Grace is new this year but she’s just as outstanding..its her first year so its just going to get better for her but our defense is strong–as strong as I’ve ever worked with.”

“We want to get better–the season is still going –its not over yet ..its not over until the play-offs are over so were really working hard to improve until our last game is played in those play-offs.’
