ISPSOS Poll indicates Trudeau popular in U.S.

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

A recent IPSOS poll commissioned by global news took a look at american views of Canada and our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.
Just over one thousand americans were surveyed.
The poll found 44 percent of Americans were familiar with Trudeau –only behind Vice President Pence and Mitch McConnell the Republican Senate majority leader.
The poll also found 40 percent would prefer Justin Trudeau over Donald Trump as president.
Retired Queen’s professor and dual citizen Geoff Smith says the Prime Minister shares similar qualities to a past American President.

“Mr Trudeau in the United States right now for nearly half of the populace is kind of a reincarnation of John F. Kennedy because he’s young, he’s vigourous, he’s got style, he takes his shirt off when he goes swimming and the people seem to like him.”
