27 thousand in merchandise stolen from bike shop

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

Kingston police are on the hunt for suspects — after four high-end bicycles were stolen from a west end shop.

Police say “j and j cycle” on bath road was broken into at about 4 a.m. on January 31.

The suspects forced the back door open and got away with two “Cannondale” bikes and two “giants.”

The total retail value of the bikes is about 27 thousand dollars.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or crime stoppers.

Sheila Gardiner: “It definitely affects what you want to bring in for stock and how you feel about people coming in, whether they’re looking to take from you or they’re customers right? You feel like you lose a bit of trust over time.”
