Queen’s looks to help students affected by travel ban

Queen’s university is reaching out to members of its student population who may be affected by the trump travel ban.

The university says any students who fall in that category and that have had to cancel plans to attend conferences in the U.S. can be reimbursed for things like airfare and hotel costs.

The university says they want to ease the burden on students who are already losing the opportunity to network with like-minded students and colleagues.

Brenda Brouwer: “Dissemination of research is important, the opportunities to network with other researchers and academics globally and get that global perspective. It’s fundamental to graduate work and research. You need it to advance knowledge and discovery – it’s an important part of it.”
