Brampton man charged with impaired driving after leading police on chase

A 24 year old Brampton man is facing a dozen charges after leading Provincial Police on a chase that ended in Napanee.

Just before 11 a.m. Saturday police received a number of calls regarding a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 401 eastbound.

Through the investigation it was determined the car had been stolen from the Brampton area.

OPP in Tweed tried to stop the vehicle earlier in the morning without any luck.

When officers from Napanee tried to stop the vehicle the driver got off the 401 and headed north on Highway 41, where he was eventually stopped at Goodyear Road.

Charges against the driver include impaired driving, possession of property obtained by crime and flight from police.
