24YO man charged after failed daylight robbery

A Kingston man is facing numerous charges after a failed downtown daylight robbery.

Police were called to the area of Barrie and Princess Streets at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

A man told them he was held up a knife-point for his shoes and cell phone.

A suspect was found on Colborne Street.

A search of his backpack turned up the victim’s shoes and cell phone, along with a knife, a set of brass knuckles and break-in tools.

The 24 year old is charged with robbery, possession of break-in tools and three weapons offences.
