Josh Allan is back with the Hawks

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

They are the defending Ontario Junior ‘A’ champions…..and now the Trenton Golden Hawks are looking to make it two in a row….they play every game knowing there’s a target on their backs….

Josh Allan/

“Ah for sure, after last year but you have to go into every game with the same mindset–you know there going to come at you hard, knowing were a top contender but you just take it one game at a time and focus on the opposition….the great thing about this league–there’s a lot of parity–you have to be ready when you come to the rink every game so on any given night, any team can beat any team so especially coming down to the play-offs you want to send a message because you can see anyone of these teams in the play-offs too…..we had some key acquisitions at the trade deadline and now were starting to jell as a group and we can only go up from here–we just have to stay with the game plan and work as a team and keep doing what were doing and good things should happen.”

Allan’s story is a special one..he just returned to the ice after missing the entire season with a herniated disc….

“Training staff did an awesome job –it was a big long, sitting and watching for 3 months but it was awesome to get back here and get a couple of games in before play-offs –it’s nice to get the taste back and hopefully I’m flying by the time playoffs start.”
