For the 10th year in a row, the Kingston Area Seed System Initiative held their annual seed swap.
Seedy Saturday promotes the use of, not only local food, but local seeds to grow that food.
The event features 10 local seed growers, workshops for kids and adults, homemade local goods, and a seed swap table.
Organizers say Kingstonians are very enthusiastic when it comes to local products and living ‘green’.
Patrick Joslin/Chair, Kingston Seedy Saturday Committee:
“One of the backbones to this movement is food security… and you know, everybody’s got to eat.
So, knowing that you can source seeds locally, that are adapted to your climates, that are going to produce for you and your family. It’s very important to the individual.
