‘Pride in Kingston’ hopes to keep local presence

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

Members of the city’s LGBTQ community gathered this evening in an effort to get the pride organization back on its feet.

An ad-hoc committee has been created in an effort to assemble a new board of directors, following the arrest of one of the board members and the resignation of the two others.

The committee is also looking into any liability issues left behind by the previous board’s sudden departure and the financial status of the organization.

Both matters will be discussed at the next committee meeting on May 1st.

Keith Bilow: “The only bit of paperwork we’ve actually been able to attain, doesn’t really show a lot of transactions. It doesn’t show what happened after June – we know there was another even that happened after June.”
