The ongoing snowfall is taking a toll on blood donations.
Officials with Canadian Blood Services say the nasty weather has forced clinics to close across the province, or is keeping donors away.
Today’s blood clinic in Kingston resembled a ghost town – but officials are hoping more people show up tomorrow from 9 to 1 and 3 to 7 – and then again on Saturday.
Debbie Barfoot: “There’s always a need for blood. Everywhere. Every day we’re looking for blood donors to come in and make the donation. Our need is every day, every minute of every day someone needs blood. And we’re constantly struggling to meet up with the demands from the hospitals.”
