Aberdeen St shut down before noon as students celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

KINGSTON – A sea of green covers downtown Kingston as many celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Police say they’ve been patrolling in the University District since 9AM — Officers could be seen handing out many tickets for things like underage drinking and having open liquor.

By noon the party spilled onto the street — forcing the closure of Aberdeen St.

Many admit the party started before sunrise — and while hundreds are Queen’s students there were a lot of visitors from all over — including Ottawa, Waterloo and London.
