Cargo plane makes emergency landing in Kingston

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

Tense moments at Norman Rogers airport this afternoon.

A small plane had to make an emergency landing after smoke was reported in the cockpit.

The “beechcraft king-air 90” plane — owned by transport Canada — was en route from Toronto to Montreal when the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.

The twin-engine plane made an emergency landing in Kingston. It touched down safely at 3 o’clock.

Kingston fire crews and paramedics were waiting on the tarmac.

We’re told the plane was carrying several hundred pounds of a non-hazardous cargo.

The two people on board were not injured. The plane remains on the tarmac.
