“Its a great honour to be named female athlete of the year for the 2nd year in a row for St.Lawrence…sports are such a huge part of my life so without sports I don’t know if I would have been here today graduating from such a hard program ..4 years in the nursing program without my basketball team and my rugby team and my coaches..I don’t know if I would have been able to do it so its a huge honour to be named female athlete of the year for the 2nd year in a row…..it was the best 4 years of my life and being on the basketball and rugby team has definitely been the best part of those 4 years of my life…like I said so many times I would’nt have been able to do it without the sports.”

The top graduating male was cross country star Rob Asselstine…..it’s the 3rd season in a row that the Sydenham native was named athlete of the year.

“I’m just really happy with my 3 years here at St.Lawrence and being with the athletics department–my coaches–my teammates..just all the support I’ve received along the way and ya, I could’nt be happier with my three years…I mean its so special to be named male athlete of the year–even one year with all the great athletes we have at the school and ya, I guess I’m just honoured and really proud.”
