New Kingston high school heads to tender

Construction of Kingston’s High School is ready to proceed to tender. The original design of the school that will replace KCVI and QECVI — has exceeded the 36 million dollar budget. As a result, officials have to cut costs.
For example, the school library that was first designed as round will now be squared off. The three story entrance has been changed to two stories. ¬†Three¬†classrooms have been moved off the main floor to the third and a roof-top terrace has been removed completely. School Board officials say these cost efficiencies won’t compromise student programming.
