Federal NDP leadership candidate Guy Caron was in Kingston today.
The economist turned politician was first elected during the orange wave in 2011 … when Jack Layton was leader.
Caron says if elected party leader — he will be busy rebuilding the party for the next election and addressing issues like climate change and income inequality and electoral reform.
“In terms of electoral reform, reminding people that the Liberals actually got lots of votes for changing our system of voting. They said 2015 would be the last election under the first past the post system it has to be a priority for the NDP, it was in our books before but I want to ensure that it will be the first thing that we will do in government.”
