The “New Life Pentecostal Church” in Kingston has been without a proper home for 3 years.
But that is all about to change… and rapidly.
The concrete foundation was poured for a new church earlier this week.
With the help of hundreds of volunteers — they have faith the church will be built in time for this Sunday’s service.

New Brunswick, we’ve got people from Indiana and St. Louis all parts of Ontario.”
Some 300 people are donating their labour for this roughly 400 thousand dollar project…. part of the United Pentecostal’s “Church in a day” program.
This is only the second time this has happened in Canada … but the Pentecostal church has done 126 similar projects across North America.
Critical experience when trying to time and coordinate 24 different trades.
“Every job we chart the time just to make sure that we know for each trade. so this building started at 7. We chart how long it takes to frame, we chart how long it takes to put the roof on.”
And with people coming from all points of the compass a project like this brings all walks of life together.
“It’s a great sense of unity and togetherness and we’re part of the United Pentecostal church international and it’s just terrific to see this happening.”
And for 75 congregation members this moment has been a long time coming.
” It’s certainly exciting for the local congregation because we’ve not had a permanent church building for a few years now.”
” It’s like we’ve been waiting for Christmas for several years and it’s finally here so I mean we’re very excited.”
“Barring anything unforeseen in the construction schedule, the New Life Church plans to hold their first service this Sunday at 11 am.
