Iconic Alexander Henry ship to move back home to Thunder Bay

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

The iconic decommissioned Alexander Henry ship is on the move once again… This time, back to its original home in Thunder Bay. The former coast guard ice breaker was a huge attraction at the ‘Marine Museum of the Great Lakes’ , here in Kingston, for 3 decades.  Last year, the ship was moved from the local dry dock and towed to Prince Edward County after the Marine Museum was evicted. This coming Monday the Alexander Henry will be transported to Thunder Bay — where it was built in 1958. The ship will serve as the beacon of the new museum of the ‘ Lakehead Transportation Museum Society.’
