Second man arrested in connection with failed robbery

Kingston Police have made a second arrest in connection with a failed robbery in the downtown area.

On Wednesday evening, two men tried to take a woman’s purse at knife point on Clergy Street.

After a brief struggle the fled empty handed.

One man was arrested the same night.

On Thursday afternoon, police say a plain clothed officer spotted the second suspect at Princess and Montreal Streets.

When he tried to arrest the man he fled, leading the officer on a foot chase for several blocks and over fences.

A 22 year old man was finally caught and Bay and Rideau Streets.

He is charged with robbery, possession of a weapon and assault with a weapon.
