The Kingston United soccer association put on a fantastic tournament over the weekend…15-hundred boys and girls took part in the annual “First Capital Cup”…
Games were played at Woodbine Park and John Machin Field and a good time was had by all…..

“Its rewarding just to see the growth in the kids–the personal growth by being involved in sports and the enjoyment they get out of it—when your at the site of the fields and see the smiles and hear the laughter and the pats on the back–its heart warming–it really is and you can go away satisfied that you contributed a little something to that–its a good feeling….our hope is that they go away saying..we really enjoyed that weekend..winning is not the end objective–we want the kids to have fun and to go away with a smile on their face and having had a good experience…we really do a lot of study of the teams that are coming and we try to make sure they’ll be matched up against teams of equal ability so that the games are close and competitive…and if you can provide them with that kind of enviroment and those kind of games they go away happy, win, lose or draw.
