Social media helps identify suspect involved in several break-ins

Kingston Police are crediting social media for helping to identify a suspect wanted in connection with several break-ins in the city.

The first break-in was on May 19 at a west end business.

Files at the Princess Street location were gone through and an iPhone was stolen.

A few days later, after acting tips through social media police were able to identify the man and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was picked up early Saturday morning in the College and Mack Street area.

While searching the suspect, a key for a new vehicle stolen from a west end car dealer on June 14 was found.

He was also linked to a break-in at another business on the same day.

A 17 year old boy has been charged with three counts of break and enter, auto theft, driving without a licence and possession of stolen property.
