KINGSTON – The local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion presented a big cheque to the University Hospital Kingston Foundation this afternoon. 19 thousand dollars will go towards the foundation and will be split 3 ways for Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu and Providence Manor Care Facility. It will help pay for much needed equipment like new beds, patient monitors and scales. Part of the money donated today comes from the legion’s fundraising efforts through their annual poppy campaign.
Merrill Gooderham/Branch 560 President:
“Because our community needs our support with the seniors. Our seniors are always requiring support someway somehow so this is our little effort to ensure that happens.
