Protest on Princess St prompts minor setback during Canada Day parade

Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

KINGSTON – All the excitement from today’s festivities was met with some opposition — the Kingston Canada Day Parade was momentarily disrupted by a group of protesters near Princess and Bagot streets. The group, fighting for indigenous rights, marched in the opposite direction of the parade — holding a banner that read ‘150 years too long’. ┬áPolice were quick to escort the group off Princess Street. The parade resumed after the minor setback.
