Kingston man fined for trapping without a licence

A Kingston man has been fined $2,500 for trapping coyotes without a licence.

Acting on a tip, investigators from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Canada went to a wooded area on Howe Island in March.

They found more than 50 illegally set snares and two dead coyotes.

The snares had been set by the landowner.

In court last week, Nickolaos Milonas pleaded guilty to trapping a furbearing mammal without a licence.
