The teenager who was charged in connection with damaging a couple of east end Kingston soccer fields will pay to have the damage repaired.
The fields were damaged on the evening of July 1 by a pick-up truck doing donuts on them.
Kingston Police say they have been getting plenty of correspondence from people who are angry about the vandalism and they don’t want taxpayers’ money used to make the repairs.
Police say they boy will pay for the cost and police are still looking for others involved, who may also be compelled to help cover the cost.
Repairs began last week on the fields.
While the work is expected to be done in a few weeks, the fields may not able to be used for another few weeks after that.
Time is needed for the new grass to take root.
