Lansdowne – The Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands Council will vote tonight on whether to hire an integrity commissioner regarding a councillor who allegedly broke the oath of office.
John Paul Jackson spoke to our Morganne Campbell about confidential information regarding the township’s decision to fire two senior staff members.
In May, council voted in favour of terminating the pair after they made allegations of harassment, some of which were sexual in nature, against the township’s newly appointed Chief Administrative Officer Greg Borduas.
A document obtained by CKWS revealed that four people made 18 separate allegations of harassment.
But an investigation by the township determined the complaints were unfounded according to Jackson.
Another councillor has asked for Jackson’s resignation.
The meeting gets underway at 7 pm.
