David Butcher named full time coach for Queen's men's rugby team

Kingston –  David Butcher has been named the new full time coach for the Queen’s men’s rugby team.  Butcher has a lengthy history on the pitch going back more than 2-decades. He’s currently the high performance manager for Rugby Ontario.  He’s also been a professional player, worked as a coach for both the provincial and national teams – not only in Canada but also in the United Kingdom.  Butcher is the first full time coach for the Queen’s men’s rugby team.  The new coach says he’s excited for the opportunity and calls the rugby program at Queen’s one of the biggest and most successful university rugby programs in Canada.  The men’s rugby team begins its 2017 OUA season on September 4th taking on the Trent Excalibur in Peterborough.
