Kingston, ON, Canada / CKWS TV

Last week was the Canadian National Track and Field Championships in Ottawa.  Kingston athletes definitely represented.  400-metre hurdler Nate St. Romain from Belleville, who is coached by Kingston’s Dave Grant won gold, beating out the runner up by 1.3 seconds.  The Kingston Achilles 4 by 400 track team were just shy of a silver medal capturing bronze in the open men’s 4 by 400 metre relay.  Their time of just over 3-minutes and 20-seconds is a new club record.  Other notable Kingston track and field results include Brogan McDougall from the Physi-Cult Track Club finishing 1st in the women’s 3000-metre race.  Amanda Black got 5th in long jump and 6th in the heptathalon.  Claire Millard placed 10th in the women’s 100-metre hurdles.  And Emily Fawcett got 15th in the hammer throw.
